Conference Launched by the Hon. Jillian Skinner MP

The Hon. Jillian Skinner MP, NSW Minister for Health and Minister for Medical Research officially launched the Call for Abstracts for the 7th Australian Women’s Health Conference during a presentation in Sydney on 9 March 2012.

The 7th Australian Women’s Conference Gender Matters: Determining Women’s Health will continue Australia’s focus on showcasing cutting edge research and best practice approaches in women’s health policy and practice locally, across Australia and internationally.

In her address Minister Skinner emphasised the ‘need to look outside the ‘medical only’ model for the health of women in Australia’.

Minister Skinner added ‘It’s so appropriate the themes of the 7th Australian Women’s Health Conference are focussed on a more holistic and preventative approach to women’s health. I congratulate the conference organisers for the interesting and worthwhile themes for the conference – which are highly likely to lead to a most informative conference with fantastic outcomes which can be followed up.’
