General Information

Banks
Normal banking hours are Monday to Thursday 0930 - 1600 and Fridays 0930am - 1700, excluding public holidays. 24 Hour Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) can be found throughout the city and shopping centres.

Climate
The season in May is autumn and delegates can expect temperatures of anywhere between 10°C and 20°C.

Shopping
Shops open from 0900 - 1730 during the week with late night shopping on Thursdays to 2100. On Saturdays and Sunday shops are open between 0900 and 1600.

Travel and health insurance
The Conference does not provide insurance to delegates. We strongly recommend that you take out insurance policies to cover medical and travel expenses. If necessary, consult your travel agent.

Program Accessibility
Please let us know how we can maximise your event experience, for example, by providing usher assistance at venues, large-print format handouts or facilities for canine assistants. Please indicate on the registration form should you require any of the following:
Auslan Interpreter, Hearing Loop, Tactile Interpreter, Note Taker, Orientation & Mobility Instructor for Hotel, Sighted guides - assistance to and from sessions, Guide Dog user information, FM user

Conference Venue
The Conference Hotel has advised that all conference rooms and adjacent amenities are wheelchair accessible. We are seeking to complete an access audit of the Conference Hotel.

Transport from Sydney Airport
All delegates must make their own transport arrangements from the airport. The following are estimates only of travel costs from the airport to the central business district.

Public transport links close to Sofitel
Sydney's Kingsford Smith International and Domestic Airport - 10 kilometres, approximately 25 minutes’ driving time, taxi service available, shuttle bus service from hotel to airport
Bus stop - 20 metres
Wynyard Train Station - 500 metres
Martin Place Train Station - 300 metres
Circular Quay Ferries - 700 metres
Monorail - 1 kilometre
Light rail (tram) - 1.5 kilometres

Taxes
A Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10% apply to all consumer goods and is included in retail prices. All fees are quoted in Australian Dollars and include GST.

Eating Out
Restaurants and cafés offer varied menus, prices and décor. Local seafood delicacies are recommended and include Oysters, King Prawns, Queensland Mud Crab, Balmain Bugs and Barramundi. These are delicious especially when accompanied by Australian wines, many of which have won major international awards.
